Huber, Therese: Romane und ErzählungenTherese Huber was an outstanding personality of her time: author, translator, editor and letter-writer. Her first husband was the natural historian and ethnographer Georg Forster and her second the editor and literary critic Ludwig Ferdinand Huber. She gave birth to ten children. In her prose works she discusses from an independent and critical perspective the conditions and possibilities of women’s lives in particular. She brings up questions of education, marriage, being unmarried, illness, politics and contemporary history and reflects on these with regard to the possibilities for and obstacles to self-determination. | |
